About
A publication about animals and the humans who love them, run by Jules.
We publish slow, human-first stories about animals and the people who love them. Long-form profiles, photo essays, Q&A interviews, and documentary video. Not cute, not sponsored, not in a hurry.
Who runs My Good Pet
Jules. A kid who has loved animals for as long as they can remember. Jules decides what stories we run, who we profile, and how each piece reads. The photographers, interviewers, scouts, and adults who help out work in service of Jules's editorial judgment.
I've always loved animals. I love my cat and I've always wanted a dog. We'll get a dog when we get a bigger yard.
I'm working on a pet toy business. I'm testing different kinds of toys with my cat and building one I hope other pets will love. I want to sell it to save up for the dog.
I want to meet other pets and their owners and learn about animals.
What we cover
The people behind the animals. Foster parents, shelter staff, vet techs, trainers, veterinarians, working dog handlers, rescue volunteers, and pet owners whose lives have been shaped by an animal in a way worth writing down.
What we don't do
Product reviews. Sponsored content. Affiliate links. Cute-pet listicles. Chain pet-store ads.
How we work
Slowly. A profile takes weeks, not days. We listen first, photograph second, and only publish when we have something worth handing to a stranger.
